Dan the man

Kind people inspire me, like the pope and the Dalai Lama. People with natural talent like athletes, artists, and professionals that are at the top of their field, I know they still had to do the work, but even that came naturally to them. Great actors or comedians, performers that appear to be right at home in the zone doing whatever they do. Throughout my life I believed I had talent or even a gift, turns out it was just a dream, or nightmare depending upon how you’re looking at it. I’ve tried many different jobs from construction to care giving dishwasher to driver. Looking back if I had picked a profession instead of a job life would be very different, maybe better maybe worse. These days long after I accepted the life I have and embraced it I find inspiration in my wife, after ten years of marriage she still impresses me with her strength and determination, a balance of confidence and humility and beauty that never grows old. I’ve learned more about myself and accepting me for me, loving me more since we’ve been married than all the years before when I believed I had all the answers, when I traded humbleness for arrogance and let ego drive me. Inspiration can be found anywhere and everywhere it’s that simple.
